L [dot] A

LA is love. :] lol.

Saturday was a total girls night and I LOVED IT. :] Kat and I drove out to LA to Mayra's apartment (which I love!). She unpacked from being home for Thanksgiving.
Anywhoo we went to ROSCOE'S. The girls got the famous chicken and waffles with gravy of course. :] I got a salad. haha. I had pizza before so I missed out. BUT I did pig out on Mayra's waffles. Best ever!

After we went to muscle beach. and what else would we do ... work on our muscles. lol. Give or take its ONE in the morning and its cold.. but we had fun. lol. Unfortunatly we didn't have a working camera. lol. Those moments would have been priceless.

Here's the story behind this picture lol ------>
Kat and myself were mad at Bobak ... We were walking through Ross and saw this skateboard. I had remembered that he wanted to get a skateboard. Thus came this picture with the message "We would of bought this for you but eff you" lol He never got it. :[ Oh well, hopefully he will read this.

Anything eventful happen with you this weekend? Let me know. :]

Thanksgiving // Black Friday - gag -

Thanksgiving this year was a bit different. Maybe cause I am older, more mature -cough-newly single 951 203 jk, lol -cough- and all that mumble jumble. Anywhoo, we did the usual family stuff which is as follows:

-We played Volley Ball. I suck at it of course. lol. This is my gangsta granny playing. Are you jealous? You should be. She can kick your butt. :]
They also played cricket, I think that's what its called lol and snacked on lots of chips. :] Esp my favorite dipping EVER cream cheese and salsa. -drools- yum!

-ooo...so here's the story about the Turkey...My granny usually puts it in the oven, blah blah blah. Well she did that than went to check it 4 hours later and guess what. .. . .. . .. the oven was broken. hahahahahahahahahahaha

Comedy. We thought thanks giving was ruined but my super dad came to the rescue and we ended up DEEP FRYING it. Not exactly the healthiest thing to do but the most yummiest. Everyone was saying that "Its the best turkey they have EVER had!" It was pretty good. and it only took 45 minutes!!!

<---side note, this reminds me that one of my supposed friends thinks my dad was cute when she saw him!!!! GAG! I wont mention her name out of respect to her reputation. lol.

-Next we pretty much ate. Fat asses. Than we went on the after dinner Walk....watched movies on my dads projector. I swear I felt like I was at the movies. lol. and left.

Here comes the exciting part.....I got home and texted Mayra. We were planning on hitting the sales at 2 in the morning but we heard that the mills was opening up at 12. So guess what! lol. We went to the mills around 11. Of course we picked up Kat. Their was tons of people, like no joke, ever entrance of the mall was full !! I actually heard of some shooting at Toys R us and a killing at Wal-mart :[ people are effin crazy!!!!!!!!! Well to sum it up..we didn't buy anything it was tooo crowded and i'm not a crowd kinda person nor are the girls. Expected it, but couldn't handle it. lol We left around two and knocked out. lol. Bobby says, "its the experience of being at the mall at 2 am." Eff that. lol. So I ended up spending a lot of money on-line the next day.lol. At least I'm almost done with my shopping!

Hope your Thanksgiving was just as eventful.

Pass the Deoderant

Holiday season is quickly approaching and unfortunately that means Holiday shopping is coming as well. Ick. That means sllllooooowwwwwww internet use on websites and gross smelly people at the actual store. I guess if you would have to choose the latter of the two it would be slow internet but than you just don't get the happy feeling that you just spent $300.00 on nick naks for presents till weeks later. So you have to deal.

Anyway, My goal for the week is to hit some type of sale for Black Friday. Like anywhere... I don't really even have a particular item in mind to get discounts on, I just know I want something. lol. I was thinking Kohl's to get some clothes for the family. but EHHHHH. That means ill be up at like two waiting in the parking lot with the other creeps to save a few bucks. But hey, a few bucks can add up in the long run. . .
Don't get mad if you see me flirting my way to the front. haha

So watch out world, the make up less bandit will be coming through.

Public Service Announcement:

Please wear deodorant at the very least. Smelly people will make me snap and possibly say something loud to embarrass you. :/ mean? No. Reasonable? Yes. It will be one of those mornings.

Happy Shopping.

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is in a few days and I just want to take the time to say my thanks . I would like to start by giving thanks to my family. They put up with my attitude day in and day out.

Mom. you are my inspiration to keep going AND especially get healthy. I am happy that you have found your motivation and thankful that you have inspired the whole family to get on track. You're the one their for my sisters and the main person I like to give credit to for my, what I like to consider, success in school, work and especially life. I know I made my mistakes and will make plenty more but at the end of the day I know I can come to you.

Dad. Thanks for keeping the family together. You're always the voice of reason in are sometimes chaotic house. You never hold grudges and you're able to withstand my attitude the best!

Steph. My little big sister. You have grown to be so beautiful and independent. I feel that in the last couple of years we have truly began to become closer. Maybe its because we both got a little more mature. But I am thankful that I have such a beautiful young women as a sister.

Amanda. "I want you to be president" lol. [inside joke]. Im thankful I have you. I can always go to you and just "chill" when i'm in a bad mood and everything better. We always have good times driving in the car. Yea, were the ones dancing all crazy.

G'ma. You're like the BEST grandma in the whole world. I come to you with ALL my problems and I know you can't fix them all but your sure try your hardest. I know you'll always listen to me. I am so thankful and blessed to you have you as my grandmother.

G'pa. I'm proclaimed as grandpa as the "spoiled one" which I do not think is true at all!! You've always given me advice when I needed and taught me a lot about how the world works. I'll always cherish those horse back rides in the mountains when I was young. You were my guide and I am thankful I have such a heroic G'pa like you.

Aunt Lisa. You were the one that gave me my ugly first name. [surprise, my first names not Megan! lol] But I am sooo thankful for that because professors tend to remember it since its sooo ugly. haha. But that's not all I am thankful for. I know you're always one text away if I ever have a question about anything. You're there when I need you, you would put down anything for us. I love you. :]

Cousin. You're like my little BIG cousin. lol. You have grown into a handsome young man and I am lucky to have you as my cousin. You know how to make everyone laugh and you're heart is big. Whenever I need a laugh I know I can text [were a texting family aren't we? lol] you and know you'll joke with me.

**Please note, the family mentioned is just the fam bam I grew up with and took care of me the most. If I would mention everyone in my family I would be here ALLL day. lol But of course I am grateful for all my extended family that I may not see everyday(except for Aunt Joy, who I do see everyday. :] lol.) but know that I love you guys just as much. I hope you know you can count on me.

With family, comes friends. I am thankful that I have all of you in my life. Especially the ones im close to the most. It feels good to know that theirs people I can count outside of the blood line. Only a select few I know I can trust my life with, and I have before. I know they'll take care of me and I hope they know I will take care of them. I am thankful to have such a great group of friends. :]

Hippo less than threes the Kitty and the Mlo.

haha, it wasn't meant to be this long :T lol.

Thanksgiving 2OO8

Question of the post:
Who and/or what are you thankful for?

Paris Bitches

Me & Kat went to Paris Hilton's BFF Reunion show! :] I have to admit, it was super long and not super fun but I got to take a picture with my favorite BFF Britney!

D E T A I L S :
We got there. I was super excited because it was something finally different from my regular life. lol We waited for the shuttle to come and had a photo session. :] Don't all girls do? lol

Than we finally went onto the set. They provided snacks for us and drinks. Than seat numbers were assigned to the audience of like 30 people. Thanks to Kats sexiness, haha, we got front rows but than the worst happen. WE GOT SEPARATED!

[ [ Kat ] ]

[ [ ME ] ]

Tear

wtf right. I guess the look of the audience is important. lol. Anyways, they began filming. Paris is much smaller than I thought. I always pictured her tall but she is quit small. She was also kinda rude. She was super nice during filming but during break she was on her cell a lot and caused the filming crew to wait a lot. I heard she just broke broke up with Benji too. lol.
Here's some pics from the set:

The taping lasted S U P E R long! We left early at 8:30 or so but they still had a lot to do! We shall see the outcome!
**S P O I L E R A L E R T !**
I have been asked a lot about who the winner was...I personally think its Vanessa. During the taping Paris looked like she favored her more and even went to her to discuss something that was on her phone. Vanessa is the one that has been the pet the most. ew, to be called a pet. lol
So watch and find out!!

Cost Of Family

So...This is super long .. but I thought if you're interested i'd give you the opportunity to read it. :]

The prompt started as follows:

For this assignment you are one partner in a two-earner marriage. You have two children, a six year old girl and a six month old boy. Your basic monthly expenses are: Rent = $1500 Car payment = $350 Auto insurance = $65 Food = $900 Utilities = $200

we also had to put in day care cost in our community as well as other expenses and discuss our views on the family roles.

Cost of Family

I contacted two facilities of care in Riverside county, one was a place of business where the other place is a home day care. The home day care cost about $500 a month, $800 for two children. I would be able to leave my children early, for a fee which would be concluded at the time of drop off. Late pick up is okay, for a fee which is to be determined, if the child is left they will try to contact me, if not they will contact the police. They are licensed but upon the visit I felt the place was not up to par. It seemed homely, but not a place I feel my child would receive their needs met. The women in charge were very friendly. She sponsored food, snacks and toys for the children as well as nap time. But in the end I would not see myself leaving my children with them.

The next facility was the RCC child care program. I spoke with one of the teachers since the main coordinator was not in during my time of visit. The teacher advised me that for my infant it would range $1,200.00 a month for full time with out the meal plan. With the meal plan it would range from $1,300-$1,500. I would have to supply my own diapers and clothing for my infant along with wipes and special snacks. If I am not on the meal plan I must provide my own formula. The positive to this experience is that the teacher ratio is 1:4. The full time hours are 6:30 am – 5:30 pm. Late charges apply to $1.00 a minute. Also if the school goes through the list of emergency contacts and none respond than they call the police in a ½ hour and this is considered neglect. An officer stays with the child until you come and the matter now turns into a police matter.

Next for my six year old the cost of full time day care would range from $700-$800. This is a teacher ratio of 1:12. I must provide extra clothing and If I am not on the food plan than I must provide a lunch for my child but the day care provides breakfast and snacks.
Since my six year old should be in school by than they will be going to day care half time which, for the afternoon, is 2:15pm – 5:.30pm. The cost is than cut into half, so roughly $350.00-$400.00. The same late rules apply.

For the RCC day care facility, I liked because I was able to peer into the children’s rooms with a mirror window. The students nor the children never know if I am or a superior is viewing them. I feel that it gives the teachers an idea that they are always being watched, which gives me a peace of mind that teacher abuse may not be a factor. I am also able to call my child if I need to speak with them.

I feel RCC would be a better choice for me because of the facility and the great communication I received just as a potential customer.

The following is a list of questions I asked both day cares:

1. What is the ratio of teacher to student?
2. Is snacks provided?
3. Am I able to drop the children off early?
4. Are their late fees?
5. Am I able to contact my child?

My basic monthly expenses are:
Rent = $1500
Car payment = $350
Auto insurance = $65
Food = $900
Utilities = $200
Child care = $1700
For a rough estimate of $4,715.00 a month.

This is minimal, minimal living. For this type of living and both of us working we would need to each make at least $2,600 a month. This is $62,400 a year combined. This total does not include transportation, entertainment, clothing vacation, two cars or savings. Not even a house. With those objects in mind, to live comfortably with no worries a family will need to make at least $120,000.00 a year combined to live the life with no problems. To live a comfortable middle class life, which I do not find anything wrong with, you must earn $57,000 - $82,935 according to the fax foundation (2007 inquiries).

Many difficulties may arise from both parents working as well as some strength. With both parents working we begin to see maybe a mother finding work a better Haven for her rather than home (pg 360). This may lead to a mother or father perhaps not being there for the child and not rearing the children the way they need to be. This leads into cases of emergencies, such as illness or sickness of the children that needs to be handled. This may become a huge problem if one of the spouses works far or their employer is not understanding about the family situation, which some will not be. I would not want this to sound like an easy fix but I believe being close to your family, such as the grandparents or your brother and sisters can eliminate the hardship of this problem. If an emergency comes through you should be able to rely on your sister to pick up little Abby. If you do not have close family than maybe a close friend whom you do trust will work the problem out. I think having a “secret word” with your child and the trusted people will keep this method safe as well as talking to your children about the importance of not going with strangers. With out the outside support of family, friends or even a “mommy group” comes the suggestion of one parent staying home or working part time.

One benefits of both parents working is the added income. With both parents working money may not cause conflict between the couple but at the same time it may not rear the children the way you may want them to be, ultimately causing the children to perhaps act out on occasion.

Another benefit would be that maybe one of the spouses is receiving benefits from their work. For example, at my work place I receive full benefits and my employer will cover my dependants by half as well as my spouse. This may take a load off our cost and I know my family will be taken care of. At the same time comes the cost of not being their for your family as well as the headache of the day care.

With the benefits of two parents come the benefits of only one parent working.

With one parent working it eliminates the day care cost and if you’re a good parent you may help the development of the child and satisfy his or her needs. But with this benefit comes the downfalls. The parent may feel trapped and inevitably not help the child. Also the child will not experience the interaction of school mates until kindergarten, possibly hurting their socializing skills.
Another benefit of one parent working is for the simple idea of peace of mind. The mother and father will always know where their children are. Are their with the “Third shift” mentality.

With these ideas, a family may also consider shift work which may satisfy the needs of the income and the family time but it may put stress on their marriage.

Personally, looking at the expense to raise a family has really helped me. I would want the best for my children but also be able to maintain a good career and be content with what I have. At 20 years old I can not imagine the impact a family would have on my life right now. But looking into the future I think I would choose to work. I currently work in a Tustin office and commute everyday, but I think I would want to have a workplace close to home where I can attend to my children as needed and hopefully my employer would work with me. I would want my husband and I to be able to cover expenses and provide for my children. At the same time it would be hard to make this decision because I have not had kids yet and at the time I may feel differently. I know my work idea may work when the children are older but thinking about the time I would miss from infancy to toddler years have me questioning. I believe this decision would have to be made when the time comes. But for now, I have the idea of both parents working.

I'm freakin awesome

Fire

The fires are sweeping through Orange County and Riverside County. 100 of Acres have been lost and many people evacuated.

The following Freeways are currently closed
57 Freeway between Lambert Road and the 60 Freeway; 71 Southbound at Pine to the West 91 connector; 241 Northbound from Santiago to the 91 Freeway; 91 Westbound to the Southbound 241.

http://laist.com/2008/11/16/triangle_complex_fire_current_freew.php

Scary! I have work tomorrow and I live off the sixty and drive to Tustin off the 55. I hope its open tomorrow or I am screwed. imagine how packed the 60 will be without the 91 open and I would have to drive all the way to the 605 to the 5 to 55 and I know many commuters will have the same thing. I might have to call in sick. AHHH and I just remembered I have class tomorrow and that's at IVC by my work.

Gay. I guess the fire started by a burning stolen car on the 241 toll roads and just started jumping around. I do hope everyone is okay.. a lot of homes were lost.

I'll keep you updated.

HATE IT :]

I hate people who try to make you look bad in front of others. Its annoying and ridiculous and I hate to let it get to me but it does. haha.

Ugh. THAN they are only nice to you when they want too and to top it off, when they sense you're mad they begin too start to compliment you. Like "Aww...are you losing weight? you look good." blah blah blah.... and even when she has NOOOO idea what she is talking about she still tries to think she is right and make you look bad after you were just telling her what happened to what she is asking for.

I HAAATTTEE IIITTTT. -screaming!-

and trust me its not because I am PMSing. Its really uber annoying. Especially on a Friday when I don't feel like dealing with it. lol.

PS: you like how it went to "some people" to a "her" lmao. Its the anger. :]

Day Off :]

Yesterday, like I posted before, I had off.

It was great. :] I woke up at 8...went to the living room, cuddled, fought and watched TV with my sisters. Around 10 I got up. Made some corn dogs(Fat ass, I know) and went to my room, closed the door, turned up the radio and cleaned. :] Please note that room wasn't trash dirty but more clothes dirty. Like everything was everywhere so don't get the idea that i'm a pig! lol

I'll be the first to admit im not the most organized person in the world so it was a bit messy. BUT now its so fresh and so clean clean. haha I just need to get those white plastic drawers they sell at wal-mart for my undies, bra's and hair stuff than im set. woot woot. Hopefully it'll stay that way.

PLUS I got to watch The morning show, Tyra and a million reruns of Jon and Kate + 8! lol. I love those shows and I never have time to watch.

Hope your Veterans Day was as eventful as mine.

Wat Up

Have you ever had a conversation with someone you haven't talked to in forever and they usually ask

"whats new?"?

Well I never really know how to reply to that. haha.
For example, this guy texted me today and he said,
"Hey what's up? I just got back from being in Korea for a month, blah blah blah, whats new with you?"

My reply was
"Not much just work and school." lmao

How lame do I sound? Im sure by not talking to me for more than a month that plenty has happened...but do I really need to bore him with the pimple on my nose that just popped or that I saw road kill today or that a few weeks back I had a major test? That stuff never seems to fit the "whats new?" question. lol.

So I guess i'll just stick with the, "Not much, same 'ol same 'ol." reply.

UGH and one last thing to be emo about. I HATE THE QUESTION
"Why IVC, why not CSUF anymore?"

-gag- for the millionth time, I can't afford CSUF right now + I honestly am not into school as I should be. I'm totally happy with my job right now. I AM still going to school which should be the i m p o r t a n t thing.

Remember sometimes plans don't work out the way you set them and maybe a better road may arise....and hey, its okay. I'm happy with my job. I love the people, money and commute. K scratch commute, but you get the picture.
So stop with that questions. :]

Hope you had a great weekend.

Election Thoughts :]

Election Opinion Via ME :]

Congrats to the new President elect OBAMA! :] He will be running our great country for the next four years and hopefully GOOD change will come about.

I personally voted for McCain. I did not believe it was going to be another Bush term and I felt his experience in leadership was superior. I also believe change would have happened with McCain as well.
To my sorrow he lost but I will stand by Obama because, Hello, I am proud to be an American. (I feel like singing that song. lol) Anywhoo.. Whether you were a McCainiac or not, lets stand by our new President and hope for the best. I am really proud many of us got out there and voted. Many experienced LONG lines and endured tedious waiting, the other luckier ones (Me) went in and out. lol. But I am glad we all let our voices be heard.

Moving on.
The props. Most of you know I supported Prop 8. :] It did pass. The abortion prop, which I believe is 4, did not pass. I was for having parents know that a minor wants or is having an abortion. But the people spoke and I will agree, for now, until a turnover perhaps? Anyways, your opinions on the props and elections are always welcomed.

New Costume :]

So I was a Flight attendant for a Halloween party. :]

Boots!

I got the cutest boots ever and all thanks to KAT! lol.

We went shopping the other day. As we were browsing wet seal I tell her that I wanted boots that are scrunchy on top blah blah blah. She said "I got some like that, they go to the ankle, I got them at Shiek." So guess where we ended up going....you guessed it! lol

I found longer ones that I fell in love with. They were purple and gorgeous. :] It was a match made in heaven. haha. After we finished looking and about to pay the guy mentions that its BUY ONE GET ONE 1/2 OFFFFFFFFF!!!!!! lol...so guess what. I bought the ankle ones like kat. lol. Those ones are black to go with everything. :]

We both spent mucho money on our trip to Mo Val mall but it was worth it.

SEEEEE!! haha
xoxo

Day-light savings

I hope you remembered to turn your clocks back!!
I think its funny that as a whole country, well most of it, does this. Like did one day some guy decide lets turn the clocks back to help out those farmers. We'll make everyone live by a new time and if you do not you will be off with everything. I guess everyone was farmers than so it didn't matter. haha. You think it would have changed when we turned more industrial based but perhaps their was rebels and they just figured if they want produce they have to part take in this ritual.
